  1. Very nice! Looks like it's in danger of being overgrown --- so nice to see the photo!

    1. Thank you. Sadly most of the churchyards and cemeteries here are overgrown.

  2. That's an interesting tombstone. Maybe it's just the cemetery where my mom is buried, but it seems like more people got tombstones in earlier times than now.

    1. It was a little plastic cross propped up against a larger stone. I think the reasons behind there being less gravestones these days is the tighter restrictions churches and cemeteries now impose.

  3. Oh, it was nice to find another cemetery fan on Wordless Wednesday. I have a number of gravestone photos on my blog and here is one:

  5. A little plastic cross ... golly, it looks like it is granite or somesuch. So perhaps it came later, much later?

    1. I was really small. For perspective it was propped up against a stone comemorative vase in front of a war gravestone. Spouses have the right to be buried in war graves after death. So I suspect it's quite a modern addition.

It just looked so beautiful sat there. However if it had been placed in the council cemetery and not this little churchyard, it would be long gone by now. Either stolen or mowed over by the concul subcontractors.
